Core Values
BatComments is designed to be a refuge from algorithmic noise, prioritizing deep curation over mindless scrolling. We expect all users to contribute to an authentic, supportive and constructive platform.
By participating in the BatComments community, you agree to elevate discussions, accurately categorize content, and interact with fellow curators in good faith.
Quality Curation
The health of our platform relies on accurate and meaningful curation. When submitting or engaging with content:
- Be Accurate: Ensure that the content you curate is categorized correctly and tagged appropriately so others can find it easily.
- Add Value: Avoid duplicating existing posts. Before submitting something new, search to see if someone else has already started a discussion.
- Vote Constructively: Use your upvotes and downvotes to elevate high-quality content and sink irrelevant or low-effort submissions, not to punish opinions you simply disagree with.
Reputation & Curator Ranks
To recognize and reward consistent, high-quality contributions, BatComments uses a Reputation Engine. As you curate content, participate in discussions, and receive positive engagement from the community, you earn Reputation Points that level up your Curator Rank.

* Attempting to artificially inflate reputation scores via botting, spamming, or vote manipulation violates our Prohibited Content guidelines and will result in point resets or account termination.
Respectful Conduct
We encourage lively debate and differing perspectives, but discussions must remain civil and focused on the content.
- Attack the argument, not the person. Personal insults, harassment, and targeted bullying are strictly forbidden.
- Do not impersonate other individuals, brands, or BatComments staff members.
- Respect the privacy of others. Do not post private, sensitive, or personally identifiable information (doxxing).
Prohibited Content
To maintain a safe environment and comply with advertising standards, the following types of content are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal:
- Hate Speech: Content that promotes violence, attacks, or degrades individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, or sexual orientation.
- Illegal Content: Any content promoting illegal acts, the sale of illegal goods, or sharing pirated/copyright-infringing material.
- NSFW & Shock Content: Explicit pornography, excessively graphic violence, or intentionally shocking material.
- Spam & Manipulation: Botting, vote manipulation, repetitive promotional content, or attempting to artificially inflate reputation scores.
Enforcement & Appeals
BatComments relies on a combination of automated safety filters and user reports to enforce these guidelines. If an account is found to be in violation, we may issue warnings, restrict specific account features, or permanently terminate the account depending on the severity of the offense.
If you believe your content was removed or your account was restricted in error, you may submit an appeal by opening a ticket via our Support Page. All appeals are reviewed by human moderators.
